JUBILANT Poole Town boss Tom Killick revealed how Corby Moore had given him cause for optimism after the loanee had netted on his full debut against Redditch.

Steve Devlin tucked away the opener on his 150th appearance for Dolphins and playmaker Moore doubled the lead just before the break, rendering George Carline's second-half effort meaningless.

Forest Green man Moore penned a month-long loan deal at Tatnam last week and Killick admitted that the 21-year-old's display in the 2-1 home win had boded well for the future.

Killick told the Daily Echo: "I felt it was a promising performance from Corby. He was technically good on the ball and I thought he was industrious.

"It might take him a game or two for him to get used to the pace of the league but I felt it was a very encouraging start.

"He's not really played an awful lot of football in this country because he hasn't figured much at Forest Green since he got there and prior to that he was in America.

"It was probably his first proper taste of non-league football so there was always going to be a period of adjustment but what he did was encouraging."

Poole were handed the chance to take the lead 10 minutes before the break after Marvin Brooks had been brought down in the box by keeper Jose Veiga.

Devlin's penalty was pushed on to the post by the stopper but the the ball fell kindly and Devlin was able to convert at the second time of asking.

Luke Burbidge was instrumental in the extension of the advantage, his cross from the right flank helped on before Moore tapped in his first goal for Dolphins.

A quickly-taken corner after the interval allowed Carline to nod the visitors back to within a goal but 2-1 was how it stayed.

Killick continued: "I was very impressed with Redditch, they presented us with a lot of problems.

"It was one of those games that was very marginal and we came out on the right side of it.

"We had a few things go our way and we managed to beat a very good team, a side which probably gave us more problems offensively than any other this season.

"They had an awful lot of mobility all over their team and were fluent and passed the ball well. It was difficult for us but we were resilient and created a number of chances.

"We've beaten a very good side and sometimes you just have to enjoy the moment.

"What the players lacked in quality they made up for in commitment and resilience and that was what carried us through."
