CHRISTCHURCH continue to look over their shoulders in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division despite a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth Poppies.

Priory plundered a point after Mark Smith’s penalty in the first-half stoppage time cancelled out ex-Hurn Bridge youngster Connor Doe’s 13th-minute opener for Poppies.

But Adie Arnold’s men, who enjoyed home victories over Andover Town and Bemerton in their previous two matches, saw their cushion over the drop zone reduced to three points after relegation rivals Totton & Eling beat Fawley 3-2.

Bottom side Fareham Town could close to two points the gap when they host AFC Portchester tonight (7.45pm).

Elsewhere, Lymington’s derby at Brockenhurst was postponed.

In Division One, New Milton could not quite muster a second-half leveller in a 2-1 defeat at 10-man Hythe & Dibden.

The Linnets quickly went two down but were thrown a lifeline when Steve Green was dismissed for the hosts.

Manny Ohameje struck a delicious free-kick to reduce the arrears but New Milton could not find an equaliser.

Ringwood host table-toppers Team Solent tonight (7.45pm).
