WIMBORNE Town manager Steve Cuss admitted defensive fragility had again proved costly after Magpies had lost 4-2 at strugglers Fleet.
Chris Hall nodded the Blues in front early on and after Mark Gamble had hit the woodwork in reply, Ben White looped over Wimborne keeper Jason Harvell.
In the second period, striker Gamble put away a penalty following a foul on Jamie Davidson.
However, Franklyn Clarke's indiscretion minutes later allowed Fleet player-boss Craig Davis to convert from the spot.
White completed his double before substitute Luke Holmes grabbed a second for Magpies with a neat finish.
Cuss told the Daily Echo: "We are conceding too many goals and it is giving us too much to do in the attacking third.
"That's not to highlight the defenders as such because as a team we didn't put enough pressure on them and let the goals in too cheaply.
"You would expect to get something out of the game having scored two goals away from home but we didn't."
Wimborne entertain Taunton tomorrow (3pm) and Gamble (knee), Clarke and Jon Blake (both ankle) are doubtful.
Adam Costello will only play if the match referee deems his broken wrist plaster cast safe, while Jack Lupton is out and Holmes is unavailable.
Magpies: Harvell, Arnold, Maybury, Clarke (Roast, 90), Biles (Holmes, 70), Griffin, Blake, Stokoe, Davidson (Kemble, 75), Gamble, Stone. Unused sub: Lupton.
