LEONARDO DICAPRIO'S new thriller Blood Diamond proved a gem at the box office as it scooped the top spot.
The movie, which stars Dicaprio as a South African mercenary, made £1.18million in the past week.
Just a fraction behind were part-animated fantasy Arthur and the Invisibles and dark drama Notes on a Scandal, while musical Dreamgirls is at number four.
Last week's number one, Rocky Balboa, fell to number five.
Dicaprio has been Oscar nominated for his role in Blood Diamond.
