MARK Ford plundered a four-timer as Blandford United romped to a 7-0 victory against Hamworthy United reserves at the County Ground.

The striker, who rejoined the Royals recently following a brief spell in Sydenhams Wessex Premier with Blackfield & Langley, put the visitors 2-0 up.

And after Ashley Ayley and Robert Manson had netted to make it 4-0, Mark Ford added another couple before Paul Ford completed the scoring.

Blandford boss Brad Asagba said: “It is easy to get sloppy and concede cheap goals but, without reaching top gear, we still managed to control the game and our game-management was superb, as was our application, even after it was apparent the game had been won.”

Blandford: Dickinson, Oliver, Michie, Reeves, Vater, Manson, Jones (Boulton), M Ford, Ayley (J Ford), Pidgley, Mulvey (P Ford).

  • Dan Manuel’s double helped Hamworthy Recreation come from behind to maintain their title push with a 4-2 win over Westland Sports at Magna Road.

Max Wilcock cancelled out Josh Payne’s fifth-minute opener before Jamie Moores repeated the feat after the Westlands man had struck again to put the visitors 2-1 up.

Manuel despatched a 74th-minute penalty to give the hosts the lead for the first time and completed the scoring as Rec kept the heat on leaders Merley Cobham.

Goals either side of half-time from Jake Hobbs and Harry Turner earned Sherborne Town reserves a 2-0 home win over Parley Sports, while Jack Scovell hit a hat-trick in Bridport reserves’ 7-0 demolition of bottom-placed Sturminster Marshall.

Ashley Smith, Ross Carmichael and Lewis Clarke netted in Portland United’s 3-1 win at Mere Town, while Szymon Matuszewski, Sean Zima and Jonathan Will were on target in Weymouth reserves’ 3-1 triumph at Tintinhull.
