MANAGER Shane Traynor revealed how a Brad Hill scorcher had inspired a comeback victory against Fawley.
Hammers, who had handed a debut to winger Jamie West, were 2-0 down when Hill crashed into the net from long range minutes before half-time.
Jordan Cole, Hill and substitute Josh Rose wrapped up a 4-2 win for the home side in the second period.
Traynor told the Daily Echo: “Fawley scored twice against the run of play in the first half and although we knew we would get back into the game, it was a case of when.
“The crucial point was when Brad scored from about 25 yards. He beat one player and was face-to-face with the full-back and the pace of the strike beat the goalkeeper.
“That lifted the players. It was a great time to score and it made my half-time team talk quite easy.
“From that point, it was about the players doing the same things in the second half and taking their chances and that's what they did.
“It was a great reaction and it was good to see the team bounce back.”
Hammers: Collin, Smith, Horlock, Legg, Cole, Hill, Daysh, Penney, West (Walker, 75), Cook (Satterley, 75), Carr (Rose, 65).
