DARRYL Williams netted twice as Poole Borough’s recent revival continued with a 2-1 victory over neighbours Hamworthy United reserves.
Williams opened the scoring after seven minutes and doubled the Hornets’ lead on the stroke of half-time.
And although Ollie Clayton pulled one back five minutes from time, Boro held on to take the spoils following an entertaining derby.
A stirring second-half come-back saw lowly Cranborne earn some breathing space thanks to a 3-2 victory at high-flying Mere Town.
Although Buddy O’Shea’s goal saw the Moonrakers leading at the break, the Cranes stormed back to take the points.
Goals from Graham Antell, Ollie Hepworth and Greg O’Mallo helped them secure a fifth victory on the road with Rhys Mendham adding a late second for the hosts.
Sam Carney’s last-minute penalty miss prevented Westland Sports from lowering the colours of title-chasing Portland United as the teams were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw.
