MARK Jermyn is set to exit Poole Town to become the new player-manager of Southern Premier rivals Dorchester Town.

The 34-year-old is Magpies’ leading appearance-maker having played more than 600 times for the county town side.

He left the Avenue last summer after 14 seasons to join Dolphins but is poised to return to his spiritual home following the resignation of Graham Kemp earlier this week.

Jermyn said: “I have always held Dorchester Town close to my heart because I grew up there. I think I was 19 when I joined and 33 when I left.

“I made great friends there and still kept in contact with many of the players, staff and supporters, I always looked out for their results. I am delighted to be coming back.”

The Magpies board would like to thank Poole for giving permission to speak to Jermyn, as well as Nick Crittenden and Stuart Heath, who looked after the squad following Kemp’s departure.

Jermyn is expected to take charge of his first match at Truro City on Saturday, subject to the completion of paperwork early this week.

Poole announced via the club’s twitter feed that they had agreed a nominal fee with Dorchester for the immediate release of Jermyn.
