WIMBORNE Town boss Steve Cuss says his players’ focus is firmly on tonight’s visit to North Leigh – despite a prestigious cup tie being round the corner.

Magpies take on the Yellows in Southern South & West just three days before they host Oxford City in the FA Trophy first round.

While Saturday’s clash promises to be one of the most high-profile games in the club’s recent history, Cuss is adamant his team’s attentions are trained on the Southern League for now.

He said: “We will concentrate fully on this game and try to keep our good run going. North Leigh are a decent side and are full of goals.”

North Leigh were on a league run of five unbeaten prior to their 1-0 defeat to Swindon Supermarine at the weekend.

They demolished Bashley 11-0 and Clevedon Town 6-1 during that purple patch and will be hopeful of continuing their strong recent home record tonight (7.45pm).

Wimborne, who have won nine of their last 10 in all competitions, are likely be without top scorer Mark Gamble, while midfielder Jamie Davidson is suspended.

Magpies: Harvell, Arnold, Costello, Oliver, Biles, Brimson, Maybury, Roast, Griffin, Webb, Blake, Stokoe, Lupton, Kemble, Field.

  • Christchurch entertain fellow Sydenhams Premier strugglers Fareham Town tonight in a high- stakes clash (7.45pm).

Second-bottom of the table, Christchurch face a Fareham side just one point above them in the standings having played two games fewer.
