BOSS Carl Poore urged his Verwood Town players to seize their FA Vase moment and warned: you might not get this chance again.

Poore, who skippered Poole Town to the semi-finals in 2010-11, will lead his troops into battle at South West Peninsula high-fliers St Austell on Saturday (3pm).

Victory in the third-round clash would hand Potters a route into the last 32 for the first time and secure the club £1,500 in prize money.

And Poore has challenged his players to rise to the challenge presented by the Lillywhites, who have won 16 games since losing to Wimborne Town in the FA Cup in August.

He told the Daily Echo: “It’s a massive weekend. The third round is the furthest the club’s got and there’s no reason why we can’t win one more.

“Some of the lads might not get the opportunity to get this far again. We’re underdogs because St Austell have won their last 16 competitive games, which is some feat, but Plymouth Parkway were the same standard and we defeated them.

“I’ve spoken to the Folland manager, Danny Bowers, who they played in the last round and he’s given me a bit of information. But I don’t want to worry too much about St Austell, it’s more a case of what we do on the day.”

Poore will be without skipper Charlie Gajic, Chris Anderton, James Murray and James Collins as the quartet are unavailable.
