FORMER Bashley boss Steve Riley ensured his current club AFC Totton would show no mercy as they cruised to an emphatic 4-0 win over the New Forest outfit on Tuesday.

Riley, who spent seven years at Bash, looked on from his technical area as the Stags made light work of seeing off their Southern League Division One South & West rivals.

And but for the heroics of goalkeeper Callum Maher, who made a string of fine saves, Bash could have been on the receiving end of a heavier defeat.

Nathaniel Sherborne opened the scoring midway through the first half before ex-Bash man Jamie Bulpitt fired through a crowd of players to double the visitors’ lead on the stroke of half-time.

Second-half goals from Craig Feeney and Kyle O’Brien confirmed Totton’s supremacy with Bash failing to seriously trouble Stags goalkeeper Steve Mowthorpe throughout the contest.

  • Wimborne Town suffered a third straight league defeat as three goals in 15 second-half minutes helped Bridgwater to a 4-1 success at Cuthbury.
