BOSS Tom Killick admitted his Poole Town troops had suffered from complacency in the 2-0 Southern Premier win at home to Histon.

An early effort from Luke Roberts and a first senior goal from substitute Dan Munday in second-half stoppage time saw the table-toppers home against their struggling visitors.

However, despite the extension of Poole’s unbeaten league run, Killick revealed that the display had, in his eyes, been far from perfect.

He told the Daily Echo: “We scored a goal relatively early on and against opponents in the lower regions of the league, we became complacent.

“Once you do that it becomes very hard to turn it round and it was quite a sloppy performance from us.

“Often when you put in a performance as poor as we did, it does end up in a defeat or loss of points, but we managed to get away with it.

“If that level of performance is replicated then we are not going to end the season where we are now.

“Sometimes you don’t play particularly well but you still have to play with a good tempo and endeavour and that was where we fell short.

“We seemed a bit flat and even when you’re playing badly, there’s no excuse for that.

“On the whole the players have done very well this season and we’re not going to start panicking but when you have a performance like that, you can’t just brush it under the carpet.

“Lessons have got to be learned so we’ve got to try and do better right from the start of the game against Truro on Tuesday.”

Cherries striker Josh O’Hanlon missed Saturday’s game – the last of his loan spell – due to a tight hamstring.

Killick admitted he was keen to extend O’Hanlon’s stay but was awaiting news on a knee problem that the former Longford Town man had been carrying.

The manager added: “We’d like to keep him and Bournemouth are OK with us keeping him and Josh is keen to stay, but we’ve just got to assess his fitness.

“There is no point us having him on loan if he’s not fit to play.

“Bournemouth make the decisions so we will have to see what the feedback is.”
