GOALKEEPER Ibrahima Coulibaly could be on the verge on joining Cherries siblings Mohamed and Aly in Dorset having secured a trial with Poole Town.

The 23-year-old French-Senegalese stopper is training with Dolphins and will showcase his talents as an over-aged player for the club’s under-21 side once international clearance is received.

Coulibaly left Swiss club BSC Old Boys in June having previously played in the third-tier with SC Dornach – the former club of Cherries winger and Coventry City loanee Mohamed.

The custodian hopes to become the third Coulibaly to secure a deal in England after younger brother Aly earned a one-year deal with Cherries’ development squad over the summer.

Killick told the Daily Echo: “In training Ibrahima looks quite good but it’s hard to assess his levels without seeing him play.

He’s very athletic, agile and is capable of pulling off spectacular saves that take you by surprise.

“His understanding of English is quite limited so most of the conversations have to go through Mo up in Coventry – it’s certainly one of the quirkier ones I have been involved in.

“It is early days yet, though, and we need to see a bit more of him before we can make a decision.

“We have applied for international clearance but unfortunately it’s not the ideal time for these things. The FA are inundated with the transfer deadline so it’s just a case of waiting.”

Meanwhile, Killick admits Saturday’s trip to Redditch United (3pm) will represent table-topping Poole’s sternest challenge to date.

The Reds sit fourth in the Southern League Premier Division, four points shy of the unbeaten Dolphins with five wins from seven matches.

Killick added: “We had a hard game up there towards the end of last season which we had to be at our very best to win.

"They looked a very competent side and as I understand it they have improved since then and have been going really well.

“You have to look at this as our biggest test so far.”

Midfielder Carl Pettefer returns from suspension but Marvin Brooks is likely to miss out despite making swift progress with his ankle injury. Defender Lewis Lindsay comes into contention.

  • Cherries boss Eddie Howe and assistant Jason Tindall will be among those taking part in Andy Culliford’s benefit match at Tatnam on Sunday (4pm).

QPR boss Harry Redknapp and Accrington Stanley manager James Beattie will also be involved.

Former Poole striker and Rs frontman Charlie Austin will be present, while Cherries favourites Steve Fletcher, Warren Cummings, Marcus Browning and Russell Beardsmore are set to dust off their boots.

The event will raise funds for Culliford’s fight against Motor Neurone Disease. Admission is £7 for adults, £5 for OAPs, £2 for under 16s with under 12s going free.
