CHRISTCHURCH boss Adie Arnold says his side’s performances have convinced him that a first win of the season is not far away.

Arnold, who departed Verwood Town after eight-and-a-half successful seasons in May, has presided over three Wessex Premier defeats so far this season.

However, Christchurch have the chance to gain three valuable points when they travel to Brockenhurst tomorrow night (7.45pm) and Arnold insists his faith in his charges remains strong.

He told the Daily Echo: “We’re not far off. I believe in these players because they have played some good football.

“It’s important we keep our heads up and keep playing the right way. I’d be more concerned if we had played poorly in the last two games.”

He said: “I’m on the lookout for one of two older heads to bring to the club.

“We need someone who has been there and done it so they can help the young lads on the pitch.”
