CHRISTCHURCH will bid to retain the bragging rights when they host Wessex Premier neighbours Bournemouth Poppies at Hurn Bridge tomorrow (7.45pm kick-off).

Dan Saul’s double and a goal from Carl Foster earned Priory a 3-0 victory at Victoria Park in October, one of no fewer than 11 defeats suffered by Poppies in their first 12 league games.

However, despite propping up the table at the time, Ken Vaughan’s charges have since leapfrogged Christchurch and are currently three points ahead of their rivals.

Victory for Mick Cuffie’s 18th-placed Priory would see them draw level on 37 points with 15th-placed Poppies with both clubs looking set to finish in the bottom eight.
