BOSS Steve Cuss will turn to Wimborne Town's rookie reserves to boost his threadbare squad after revealing there is little prospect of adding fresh blood.

Magpies' injury woes worsened this week when crocked duo Mark Gamble and Ollie Phillipson-Masters were joined on the sidelines by James Stokoe (ankle) and assistant manager Paul Roast.

Following last weekend's 3-1 reverse at Clevedon Town, Cuss said he could draft in extra support, but while the Cuthbury manager stopped short of ruling out any moves, he anticipated no movement before Saturday's home clash with Taunton Town (3pm).

Cuss told the Daily Echo: “We're limited as to what we can do so we're looking to our younger lads to stake a claim for a first-team place. At the moment, we're just looking at what we have.”

Magpies: (from) Harvell, Arnold, Maybury, Oliver, Costello, Blake, Griffin, Davidson, Roast, Grose, Kemble, Webb, Stokoe, Phelps, Brimson, Burton-Hemmings.

  • Experienced duo Nic Jones and Warren Kenna should return for Bashley's home match with play-off chasing St Albans City in the Southern Premier (3pm).

Bash: (from) Jones, Rolls, Flint, Ansell, Marden, Bulpitt, Roberts, Soetan, Kenna, Joyce, Brookes, Odam, Strickland, Morris, Gazzard, George.

  • In the Wessex League Premier Division, Hamworthy United host league leaders Alresford Town, while Verwood Town travel to bottom club Downton.

Christchurch face a tough trip to reigning champions Blackfield & Langley with Bournemouth Poppies travelling to Horndean.

In Wessex One, New Milton Town host title chasers Petersfield Town while Ringwood Town entertain third-placed Cowes Sports (all 3pm).
