BRANKSOME Railway manager Ian Colmer revealed how he tried to coax old friend Cherries legend Steve Fletcher out of retirement over the summer.
The top dogs of Bournemouth Sunday football approached the 41-year-old super striker over a potential cameo role ahead of the current campaign.
Both Colmer and Fletcher were talking ahead of Railway's FA Sunday Cup quarter-final showdown with Shropshire outfit The Plough, Wellington, at Wimborne Town's Cuthbury home on Sunday (2pm).
Fletcher discusses the benefits of the clash for local football and admits he may rue the decision to not pull on his boots if Railway make the final at Anfield - home to Fletcher's boyhood club Liverpool.
