GRAHAM Kemp hopes to make it third time lucky against old friend Adie Arnold when Hamworthy United host Verwood tomorrow (3pm).

Potters boss Arnold has held the Indian sign over his old sparring partner this season as Kemp lost his final game in charge of Winchester City 1-0 at Potterne Park.

And after being lined up to take the County Ground hot-seat, Kemp watched his new club slip to a 2-1 loss at Verwood prior to taking charge.

Kemp confessed that Potters’ backyard has never been a happy hunting ground for him as a manager, but with Hamworthy unbeaten in five matches since he took over, United’s boss expects to turn the tide on home soil.

Kemp told the Daily Echo: “Verwood have always been tough to beat at their place but while I have never won there, I have never lost a home match against Adie.

“We go back a long way and manage our teams in a similar fashion. We both rely on team spirit and people who want to play for us. At home, I expect us to get a result like I do when we play most teams in this league but whatever happens, we will have a drink after.”

Arnold added: “We are good mates but come three o’clock we will be the best of enemies for a little while. Matches against Kempy’s teams always have that extra spice because we know each other’s games.”
