Non-league: Killick hails new strike duo
Poole edged ahead through an own goal and Will Spetch doubled the lead before the visitors were reduced to 10 men following an alleged head-butt.
Winger Carl Preston and frontman Charles completed the scoring as Poole remained five points behind leaders Hungerford, with five games in hand.
Killick told the Daily Echo: “We played really well. It was a good, strong performance from us.
“We played Warren Byerley and Michael Charles up front together for the first time since the Wimborne game and they look a very good pairing.
“They are both very good and both are a real threat. Together, they seemed to work well.”
Killick is hoping that Byerley, who is dual registered with Dorchester Town, will soon commit his future to the Tatnam club.
Dolphins: R Emmerson, K Emmerson (Baggridge, 75), Walker, Spetch, Clarke, Preston, Devlin, Howes (Brooks, 75), Burbidge, Charles, Byerley (Kelly, 60). Unused subs: Richardson, Dibba.
- Disappointed Steve Cuss admitted Wimborne Town had endured a “bad night” as they suffered a last-gasp 1-0 defeat against Sholing.
The basement outfit stunned the Magpies at Cuthbury when Barry Mason bagged a winner during stoppage time in the Southern League showdown.
Wimborne boss Cuss told his club’s official website: “I was disappointed with the result as well as our performance.
“We have not been able to create chances and dominate games at home recently and that showed in our performance against Sholing.”
Magpies: Harvell, Arnold, Brian, Costello, Peprah-Annan, Maybury (Gill, 70), Sainsbury, Hubbard, Jeffes (Kemble, 75), Davidson (Smith, 75), Webb. Unused subs: Cole, Ackerman (g/k).
- Sam Griffin scored one goal and played a major role in the other as Christchurch defeated Alton Town 2-1 at Hurn Bridge.
Griffin won the penalty which led to prolific striker Ben Osborne firing Priory into an early lead in the Wessex Premier clash.
Former Bournemouth Poppies and Christchurch midfielder Scott Sanderson levelled for Alton but Griffin struck late on to help Priory climb to second in the table.
Priory: Collins, Thompson, Magookin, Crutchley, Lloyd, Yelland (Burden, 60), Smith, Puckett, Osborne, Griffin, Cornick (Kittle, 70). Unused subs: Dand, Taylor, Frampton (g/k).
