Morris urges youngsters to stay grounded

Bashley skipper Richard Morris is urging his young guns to keep their feet on the ground as they go in pursuit of silverware.

Currently third in Division One, Bashley will be looking to book a place in the final of the SPL t20 Cup when they host Sarisbury Athletic on Sunday (3pm).

Morris, whose men entertain Alton in the league tomorrow (11.30am), said: “Our ethos of attracting young, hungry and local players not only means that we have a good dynamic team, but also a group who contribute to the club off the field.

“The most important thing for us is that we don’t get too far ahead of ourselves when we win and don’t get too down when we lose. Club cricket is there to be enjoyed and, as long as we are improving as a group and learning from our experiences, then we will be all the better for it.”

Bashley: Morris, Thurgood, Webb, Ridley, Friedman, Baker, Neal, Lilley, Higgins, Nash, Grierson.

Also in Division One tomorrow, Bournemouth travel to St Cross, while Lymington visit Hampshire Academy (both 11.30am). In Division Two, New Milton head to Sarisbury Athletic (1pm).

Bournemouth: Barlow, N Park, J Park, House, Coombs, Hurley, Metcalfe, Evans, Butler, Kidner, Scott.
