CAROLINE Atkins scored a valuable 48 not out as England Women eased to a convincing nine-wicket win over Australia at Chelmsford.

Bournemouth University staffer Atkins responded to being left out of last week’s International Twenty20 clash by racking up an opening stand of 119 with Sarah Taylor after Holly Colvin (3-27) had starred with the ball to restrict the tourists to just 133.

Atkins then teamed up with Claire Taylor to see the World Champions home after just 27.1 overs.
