RAFF Hussey and James Haggaty smashed quickfire half-centuries as New Milton ran up a formidable 181 for six before beating an inexperienced Bashley by 106 runs in the New Forest CA President’s Cup.

Lee Beck (31) set the pattern for the Green & Golds, who prospered greatly through Hussey’s 58 from 35 balls and Haggaty, who hit four sixes in his 29-ball stay at the crease for an unbeaten 60. The pair adding 77 in eight overs.

George Watts (3-16), Jake Lilley (2-25) and 17-year old Ollie Wilmore (2-8) bowled out Bashley for 75 to set up a semi-final meeting for New Milton against Hythe & Dibden on Tuesday.

Fawley host Lymington at Holbury on Monday for the right to host Sway in the semi-final the following week.

The President's Cup final is at Bashley on Friday, July 6.

Meanwhile, Bashley will be hoping to boost their Southern Premier League title bid when they visit Premier Division rivals Burridge on Saturday (11am).

Bashley are currently second, just eight points behind leaders South Wilts.

Lymington, fresh from their first win of the season against Burridge, host neighbours New Milton in a crucial battle at the bottom of the table (11am).
