MARTIN Miller wants Bournemouth to see out 50 overs with the bat when they travel to Rowledge tomorrow (1pm).

Lions are one spot below their rivals in the embryonic Southern Premier League Division One standings.

And captain Miller is keen to see an improvement on the performance he witnessed in the defeat to Andover a fortnight ago.

He told the Daily Echo: "Rowledge have brought in some new recruits over the winter and are not a team we have played a lot historically but we did the double over them last year.

"However, if we bat like we did against Andover, it is going to be a challenge. We can't afford to make the mistakes we did in that game.

"Me included, batsmen have got to be prepared to not give their wickets away and to bat for 50 overs.

"If we do that, with our bowling attack I'd like to think we'd be a challenge for any side in our league.

"Batting 50 overs is the objective for Saturday."

Lions are without unavailable duo Matt Jones and Jake Hurley, while Elliot Guest is set to make his debut having impressed for the seconds.
