BOURNEMOUTH captain Martin Miller has made the case for a two-team promotion system from the Southern Premier League's second tier.

Lions are this season competing for one promotion place as they aim to return to the top flight following relegation in 2013.

And Miller feels the league should in future increase to two the promotion spots from Division One, insisting Bournemouth would be far from out of place at Premier Division level.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow's trip to Andover (1pm), Miller told the Daily Echo: "The frustrating thing about our league is that there is only one promotion spot.

"It's so difficult to compete at the top of you lose a lot of games. You can't afford to slip up unless everyone is beating each other.

"My view is that one down, one up is counterproductive. New Milton were promoted last year and they will compete in the top league this season as would Basingstoke if they were to go up. I'd like to think we would as well.

"It should be every cricketer's ambition to play at the highest level they can and I don't understand the view the quality is not there.

"Two teams go up from every other division in the pyramid. My view is it should be two up from Division One."

Miller's side is unchanged following last week's win over Old Tauntonians and Romsey.
