CAPTAIN Chris Park says teenagers Max Trueman and Rob Pack deserve their spots in the side for Dorset's first pre-season clash.

Dorset take on Wiltshire at South Wilts Cricket Club tomorrow with the two youngsters set to make their debuts in the 12-a-side contest (11am).

The 16-year-old Truman plies his trade as a batsman for Parley while the 17-year-old Pack is a left-arm spinner at Bournemouth.

Park told the Daily Echo: "They have both impressed during pre-season training and given that we are without the services of Max Waller, Tom Barber and Jem Warner, there are opportunities available.

"They deserve their chances because of their performances during the winter and long may that continue.

"They can make their debuts and realise the standard that needs to be maintained for Minor Counties cricket."

Dorset finished eighth in Unicorns Championship Western Division in 2015, one place behind Wiltshire.
