SIMON Beetham believes his Lymington troops can topple unbeaten Southern Premier League leaders South Wilts tomorrow – provided they all turn up ready to battle.

The Lymo skipper’s artillery is boosted by the return of Ed Freeman and Cameron Grierson, although Felix Ambrose is unavailable for the crunch clash.

But despite Beetham’s boys labouring in the lower reaches of the Premier Division table, their leader has every faith in their ability to upset the odds.

Beetham told the Daily Echo: “South Wilts are a strong outfit who have played together for a long time and perform well. We appreciate their strength but on current form, we are a confident side and would back ourselves against anyone in the league.

“Clubs know that when we perform well, we have a side that can turn over most teams.”

One player that could be key to Lymo’s hopes is Matt Metcalfe, who claimed a career-best nine wickets for 51 runs against South Wilts two years ago.

“Matt is an important member of our team with bat and ball and is a real threat when on song.

“He has already performed with the ball, taking eight wickets against Havant this year so it would be great to see him produce a similar spell.”

  • Title outsiders Bashley make one change for tomorrow’s Premier Division trip to Alton with Luke Webb in for Nick Baker.

Simon Watkins’s third-placed side will be looking to avoid a third straight away defeat in the top flight.

In Division One, Joe Prodomo returns as table-toppers New Milton host Hartley Wintney. Will Crossley misses out.
