DORSET have left themselves with the mammoth task of finding 426 runs on the final day of their Unicorns MCCA Championship match at Wiltshire tomorrow.

Having been dismissed for 260 in the first innings, Chris Park’s side were trailing their hosts by 72 going into the second round of batting at Corsham, despite the dogged determination of Jake Lintott (36), Mark Wolstenholme (31) and Ed Denham (29*).

Any hopes of clawing back the deficit soon evaporated when openers Jayden Levitt (104) and Henry Langford (69) put on 174 before Dorset’s flurry of three quick-fire wickets was stifled when Ed Young (67) teamed up with Neil Clark to rack up another 84.

Ashur Morrison remained unbeaten on 61 when the home side declared on 373 for six. The visitors closed today on 20 without loss in their unlikely pursuit of 446 to win.
