Youngsters impress Howe
 |
| BOSS: Eddie Howe |
EDDIE Howe was quick to praise his young reserve side after they earned a respectable draw at Swindon Town today.
Despite fielding a team consisting solely of youth players, Cherries' second string raced into a two-goal lead through strikes from Steve Hutchings and Josh McQuoid.
But the experienced Robins outfit fought back after the break to claim a point.
"It was a very, very tough game," Howe told the Daily Echo.
"They had a very strong side out and had about seven or eight professionals, and we had none.
"I thought the lads did excellently and there were some excellent individual performances.
"Ryan Pryce, Josh McQuoid and James Queree all did excellently.
"Ryan made three or four great saves to keep us in it."
Howe added: "We just couldn't hold on. They came out rejuvenated after a telling off at half-time and were too strong and physical for us."
One downside for Cherries was a knock sustained by midfielder Joe Partington, although his injury is not thought to be serious and he should be in contention to face Walsall this weekend.
Cherries reserves: Pryce, Reeve, Queree, Rose, Newton, White, Partington (Tuttle), Cooper, McQuoid, Davidson, Hutchings (Wilson).
