JOSHUA King scored a dramatic winner against his former club to help Cherries claim another memorable Premier League victory.

King, released by Manchester United in 2013, netted midway through the second half as Cherries followed up their victory over Chelsea.

Junior Stanislas drew first blood for Cherries when his inswinging corner crept into the top corner inside the opening two minutes.

But United restored parity when Marouane Fellaini was on hand to poke home the loose ball from close range midway through the first half.

However, King had the final say when he finished with aplomb after fastening on to Matt Ritchie’s well-worked corner.

Boss Eddie Howe named an unchanged starting line-up following Cherries’ 1-0 victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Goalkeeper Adam Federici made a welcome return on the bench after recovering from an ankle injury, while Sylvain Distin was back following illness.

Cherries made a dream start when they stunned United by taking the lead inside the opening two minutes.

Stanislas earned the hosts a corner when his dangerous free-kick into the near post was turned behind by Michael Carrick.

And the resultant flag kick, taken by Stanislas, caught United goalkeeper David De Gea flat-footed as it sailed over his head and into the top corner.

Bournemouth Echo:

Cherries were then thankful to a stunning double save from goalkeeper Artur Boruc, the Pole denying both Fellaini and defender Paddy McNair.

Boruc stood tall and somehow managed to keep out Fellaini’s close-range effort before diving full-length to his left to push McNair’s follow-up header past the upright.

Stanislas saw his 13th-minute free-kick soar over the crossbar before Cherries had a let-off after Anthony Martial had been gifted a sight on goal.

However, the £36million signing from Monaco, who profited on Stanislas’s error, side footed wide of the target with only Boruc to beat.

Stanislas looked destined to double Cherries’ lead after racing clear having been picked out by Harry Arter’s pass but was thwarted when De Gea smothered at his feet.

United levelled midway through the first half when Fellaini reacted quickest after Boruc had saved from Memphis Depay, the Belgian poking home following a scramble.

Bournemouth Echo:

De Gea got down to his right to pouch Stanislas’s low drive after 28 minutes before King prodded narrowly wide following a smart move involving Simon Francis and Stanislas.

As the first half drew to a close, another good build up from Cherries ended with Matt Ritchie firing a right-foot shot straight down De Gea’s throat.

De Gea was forced to beat away a blistering strike from Francis after the Cherries skipper had embarked on a lung-busting run from his own half early in the second half.

And from the resultant corner taken by Ritchie, the winger’s precise delivery picked out King who coolly slotted the ball past De Gea from eight yards.

Bournemouth Echo:

Boruc saved unconvincingly after a cross had fallen to Fellaini before a couple of important blocks prevented United from testing the Pole.

King pulled up after appearing to succumb to what looked like a hamstring injury midway through the second half and was replaced by Glenn Murray.

Murray should have made it 3-1 after 71 minutes, the big striker doing superbly to fashion the opening but then lifting his shot over the top.

And just minutes later, a corner fell invitingly for Murray but again he scooped his effort over the crossbar from six yards.

Martial added his name to the miss-list when he blazed over the crossbar after creating a presentable chance for himself 13 minutes from time.

As Cherries went in search of a third, Arter’s drive flashed past the upright after good work from Dan Gosling and Andrew Surman.

Cherries continued to keep United at bay by spending most of the closing stages on the front foot.

The visitors had a two-minute flurry in stoppage time but a petulant foul by Phil Jones on Murray alleviated the pressure with Vitality Stadium erupting once the final whiste blew.
