NEW signings Junior Stanislas and Callum Wilson were both on target as Cherries rounded off their pre-season friendly campaign with a 4-1 win at Oxford today.

Stanislas opened the scoring with a finely-taken free-kick before Wilson doubled their lead with an accomplished finish on the stroke of half-time.

Former Coventry man Wilson netted a penalty and completed his hat-trick late on with Oxford’s goal coming from Danny Rose after 22 minutes.

Danny Hylton headed wide from a Joe Riley cross as Oxford carved out the first chance after 10 minutes before Wilson jinked past a defender, only to see his shot saved low down by George Long.

The Oxford goalkeeper then made a tremendous double save, turning Wilson’s follow-up effort over the crossbar after he had beaten away Dan Gosling’s venomous long-range drive.

Wilson nipped in ahead of Long to meet a Charlie Daniels cross, the striker dinking his shot over the crossbar before Stanislas gave Cherries the lead in the 19th minute.

The former Burnley man opened his account for his new club with a delightful free-kick, Stanislas curling a right-foot shot around the wall and past Long from the edge of the box.

However, the lead was short-lived as Danny Rose picked up the loose ball after Yann Kermorgant had lost possession and beat Benji Buchel with a sublime finish from a tight angle just three minutes later.

Gosling escaped punishment for a poor tackle on Hylton before the former Newcastle man was involved in a well-worked corner which ended with Stanislas’s driven shot being saved by Long.

Cherries regained the lead on the stroke of half-time when Wilson coolly slotted the ball past Long after beating the offside trap to fasten on to Ryan Fraser’s through ball.

Buchel comfortably pouched Hylton’s speculative effort early in the second half before Wilson fired over following a cut-back from Adam Smith.

Josh McQuoid’s goalbound strike was charged down by Sam Long, the Oxford substitute also blocking after Kermorgant had taken aim having seized on the loose ball.

Goalkeeper Long clutched Stanislas’s 25-yard piledriver, while Buchel was forced to claw away a header from Jon Muleba after the young defender had flicked Rose’s cross towards his own goal.

Wilson made it 3-1 from the penalty spot, sending George Long the wrong way after Sam Long had been guilty of handling the striker’s cross.

And Wilson completed his hat-trick when he followed up to poke home the rebound after Long had saved his initial shot two minutes from time.
