HARRY 'NOT INVOLVED' WITH MOSTYN BID
 |
| POMPEY BOSS: Harry Redknapp |
JEFF Mostyn's bid to take Cherries out of administration is nothing to do with former boss Harry Redknapp, the Daily Echo understands.
Portsmouth boss Redknapp is reported in today's Daily Express to be on the verge of bailing out his former club, possibly with the involvement of sons Jamie and Mark.
However, the former Dean Court boss is understood to have no involvement whatsoever with the consortium involving Mostyn and current vice-chairman Steve Sly.
Strict Football League regulations would preclude Redknapp and younger son Jamie, a Sky Sports pundit, from having any financial involvement in Cherries.
When the Redknapps' involvement has been put to Mostyn by the Daily Echo in recent weeks, he has brushed off the link and so far made no official comment.
The Daily Echo has been unable to contact Mostyn in the past 24 hours, although administrator Gerald Krasner spoke to us this morning.
He said: "I might have met Mr Redknapp when I was at Leeds but in terms of Bournemouth, I have never spoken to or met him."
When asked whether he knew if any of the Redknapp family were involved with Mostyn's bid, Krasner replied: "I have an idea who is involved with Jeff, but only Jeff will answer that question.
"I'm not dealing with Mr Redknapp in any capacity whatsoever. I'm dealing with Mr Mostyn on behalf of his consortium."
Meanwhile, Krasner confirmed his meetings, scheduled for today, had been adjourned until tomorrow as one of the parties involved was unwell.
Krasner is believed to be on the verge of making a decision on the future direction of the club within the next 48 hours.
