MY WEDDING WISH LIST
Jeff Mostyn
Jeff Mostyn

CHAIRMAN Jeff Mostyn admits his heart and mind will be divided this afternoon as he attempts to prove men can multitask.

The Cherries chief is unable to attend the club's crucial clash at Carlisle because of a prior arrangement - his daughter's wedding.

But Mostyn, who was unveiled as the preferred bidder to take the cash-strapped Dean Court club out of administration on Tuesday, will be keeping one eye on events at Brunton Park in the hope of enjoying a double celebration.

In a statement released exclusively to the Daily Echo yesterday, Mostyn said: "It is somewhat ironic that I will be missing the most important game of our season as a result of my daughter's wedding.

"My future son in law has a lot to make up for as a result of arranging the wedding on the last day of the season.

"What you can all be assured of is, both my heart and mind will be focused on both events simultaneously."

He will be keeping his fingers crossed as Cherries attempt to complete the Greatest Escape.

He said: "I do not believe that even the most optimistic of Cherries supporters would have thought in their wildest dreams, that after suffering a 10-point penalty following administration, the team would be heading north to Carlisle today with a chance of survival in League One.

"It is a true testament to Kevin Bond, his coaching staff and all the players that we find ourselves in this remarkable position. Following administration the team were 14 points adrift and struggling to get results, but then came the most amazing turnaround.

"We found a settled team, avoided major injuries and the luck that had deserted us all season on the pitch began to fall our way. Added to this the return of our injured players and the start of a possible miracle had begun.

"Slowly but surely the team started to claw back the deficit with a string of amazing and gritty performances."

The dramatic comeback at Swansea City, when Cherries came from 1-0 down to win 2-1 with a pair last-gasp goals, stands out for Mostyn.

"For me the highlight will always be our victory away to the league leaders Swansea City," he explained.

"As we approached full-time we were still trailing by a goal to nil - what a time for Joe Partington to score his first ever league goal and equalise.

"Having barely taken a breath and feeling relieved at getting a point, up popped Jo Kuffour to score the most remarkable winner.

"I was still smiling the following day and that moment will always remain in my mind, and it somehow made all the trials and tribulations I have faced at AFCB worthwhile."

Mostyn added: "I would like to thank everyone for their amazing support over the past few difficult months, it has been a major influence on the team's performance.

"I wish everyone a safe trip to Carlisle and a fantastic, memorable day. Please bring me back the three points and a miracle we can all share forever."

Yes - If we do incur a 15 point deduction:

a. We will have difficulty in signing players next season (after all who would want to join a club who is cast adrift at the foot of the table with a 15 point deduction before the season has even started??)

b. IT will have an effect on season ticket sales (who would want to buy a season ticket when the season is already over before it starts ??)

We are not Leeds United whio have the strength in depth to overcome such a deficit.

If we are relegated with a 15 point deduction it is highly likely we could end up in the Pink Circle Ford Second-hand Spare Part League!!>

However, my sincerest best wishes to the players this afternoon. If we can do it what a turnaround!!.

Regards

Your Fault Mostyn , your EGO screwed the club around at the start of the season.

Just hope you got the money to get us back up and not just small change.

Who's the DADDY then !!

Yes totally agree. But KB should do the decent thing and resign. The sooner the better. After all with JM as the preferred bidder he Is not going to sack him,is he? And take RN with you as well.I think you should do this for the sake of this club.

Can we wait and see what is going to happen to the club before we start the mud slinging I doubt the players who have given us everything are even out of the changing room and you can't wait to start the slagging, it's pathetic.

If you read my post again you will see that my post directed at KB and JM, who this Is not the first time I have had a go at them. The players have given their all and I am not having a go at them at all.I never have done that, and never will.Just change the manager.

First gift to your daughter Jeff should be ,

KEEPING YOUR WORD WHEN YOU SAID THAT YOUR FAMILY HAD TOLD YOU TO PACK IT ALL IN AND YOU AGREED.

Just another of your lies . Your son in law should check the wedding bill because your promise of paying maybe another LIE.

Mostyn you are killing OUR club so please go away and ruin someone elses life , please.

Seems the man is what you may call shameless. Takes the plaudits whenever he can, when his decision to take admin has cost the club its league 1 status, still he will pick the club up for nothing and screw all and sundry for his own ego. The season is over, lets hope we have a ban on Mostyn's face and self serving press for at least 3 months. He puts me off my tea.
