Cherries hoping for FA leniency
Shaun Cooper
Shaun Cooper

CHERRIES will be hoping for a sympathetic ear when they face an FA disciplinary panel after admitting their players had failed to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion.

The charges were brought by the FA following Cherries' incident-packed 2-0 defeat by League One rivals Doncaster at Dean Court last month.

Cherries were reported by referee Andy D'Urso after several players had surrounded the official following the first-half dismissal of Shaun Cooper who saw red for a second booking.

Cooper was sent packing following an altercation with Richie Wellens, while Rovers duo Jason Price and Mark McCammon were also yellow carded.

Cherries subsequently admitted the charge and also requested a plea of mitigation so they can put forward their case for a reduced punishment.

And although they are likely to be fined, Cherries are hoping an FA disciplinary panel will take their previous good record into consideration when it sits in the next few weeks.

Any news of the charges made against D`Urso following one of the worst displays of refereeing ever witnessed at AFCB ? Or is that a silly question ?

nah, a silly question.

I've long since though the police at matches should arrest some referees on the spot for inciting public disorder due to the way they wind up the crowd with obviously poor decisions.

Noel - I couldn't agree more. Also D'Urso has been deemed not to be good enough for the Greedy B*****ds League why should we have to put up with him?

Silly statement if anything - remember a certain Mr Barry Knight? He was undoubtedly THE worst referee witnessed at Dean Court.....ever!

I did say "ONE" of the worst to ever (DIS)grace our pitch ! I agree thou that despite some very stiff opposition the black Knight wins the race to be the biggest spanner ever seen here . D`Urso can have the runners up award thou .

Let's hope we don't have to give out anymore Abject Referee Performance Awards (sponsored by Stanley Tools) in the future! Wishful thinking I know!

I can't help thinking of every time Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea have a player sent off, they do no different to what we did that night and yet they seem to get away with it every time. Like Cheeryfan of Horndean said, "Long live the premiership".
