BOSS Eddie Howe is hoping he can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel regarding Cherries’ continuing injury crises.
Howe had the rare luxury of being able to name no fewer than six substitutes for Cherries’ League Two showdown at Notts County on Monday.
It was a far cry from their previous away game at Shrewsbury where Cherries’ four-man bench had included twice-retired assistant boss Jason Tindall and 16-year-old schoolboy Jayden Stockley – who had arrived late after being drafted in at the 11th hour.
Fit-again midfielders Sammy Igoe and Joe Partington were both unused subs during the 2-2 draw at Meadow Lane, while Liam Feeney was back in the starting line-up after recovering from a hamstring injury.
“It was good to see six subs,” said Howe, who still has Jason Pearce, Scott Guyett, Shaun Cooper and Mark Molesley on the injury list.
“It shows we’ve got players coming back and we’ve got competition for places.
“The lads know they have got to perform to keep the shirt and that’s what the game is all about.
“Hopefully, it won’t be a problem again. We’ve been down as low as two or three so, to have six, is an embarrassment of riches for us!
“We’ve been used to it all season so I don’t think it should affect us. If we get another injury crisis then it would, but, at the moment, we’re in good shape.”

The great thing would be for an injury free period now..
Moseley & Cooper back before the end of the regular season? Forget it. Training ground fitness, then matcch fitness, then bedding back into the team. There's not enough time. Play-offs, however, is another matter. Hopefully Pearce will be back mid April. We need him and we need Marvin in midfield.

Had he been able to, Rhoys Wiggens, Charlie Austin and Steve Lovell would have been signed last Summer and am sure that if Rhoys is available he will try again to sign him. Assuming that our Board can sort out the finances,of course!
The only downside to the recovery of these injured players will be the loss of Rhoys Wiggins, as the lovely guys at the FL will surely not now sanction the extension of his loan.

It's very good news to see the bench beginning to fill and with Cooper not too far away either, things are looking up on the field. Hopefully, Moseley and Pearce's recovery is also on track and they will be available for the run in. The League is becoming very tight at the top, with six teams competeting for the two remaining automatic places, it looks very much as if Rochdale have the title, Grimsby will be a tough game on Saturday, they are fighting for survival and our record against bottom Club's is patchy, there are no certs!. What we now want is the finances sorting out, with just two weeks to the hearing of HMCR's petition, time is getting short.
