LONG-time Cherries benefactor John Piper today saw his civil claim against Dean Court vice-chairman Jeff Mostyn dismissed at Southampton County Court.
The dispute between the pair centred on a £30,000 loan made by Piper shortly before AFC Bournemouth went into administration in February 2008.
Piper pursued Mostyn – personally – for the funds, while the ex-Cherries chairman’s defence said the loan was made to the club, so he was not personally liable.
Sitting at Southampton County Court, Mr Recorder Tyson dismissed Piper’s case and also ordered him to cover Mostyn’s costs, £25,000 of which are to be paid within 14 days, with the remainder to be assessed if not agreed.
