CHERRIES boss Eddie Howe has outlined the goals his players should be striving to achieve this summer.
Howe’s men continue their preparations for the League Two campaign with a trip to Hamworthy Recreation tonight (6.30pm).
And Howe has laid out the objectives for his stars going into their pre-season friendlies.
He told the Echo: “They want to get some confidence. I think that’s vital in any sport.
“The second thing would be the physical side and that will in turn help their confidence. If you’re fit, the chances of you playing better are, of course, higher.
“And I suppose a bit of belief would be a third goal. Belief in themselves will be crucial for the season ahead.”
Howe’s men have been put through their paces by strength and conditioning coach Jon Dalzell since they returned from their summer holidays last week.
As well as the training sessions, the Cherries squad also underwent a series of tests at Southampton Solent University to judge their fitness levels.
Howe added: “The main thing is to get their fitness levels up at this stage and make sure they come through without any injuries because that will be a plus for us.”
Spectators heading to Magna Road can use the additional spaces at Canford Park Arena.
Entry is £5 for adults and £2 for under-16s.
