VICE-chairman Jeff Mostyn believes the “local” make-up of Cherries’ new board is a key ingredient as the club’s new owners look to provide some much-needed stability at Dean Court.
Mostyn, who is today set to hold talks with the Football League about Cherries’ plight, officially returned to the corridors of power last week.
And with an eye on the future, he has given his assessment of the new team which will be attempting to solve Cherries’ off-field problems and steer the ship into calmer waters.
“We’ve all been together now for a few weeks, we’ve got a better understanding of each other and we complement each other and we’re going to work together,” he told the Echo.
“We really just make up a board that have very concise and constructive ideas for the club.
“The main difference is that we all have a vested interest in the football club.”
He also insisted that the new personnel provided a good mix of experience and fresh approaches.
He said: “We’ve got the experience of Steve (Sly), myself and Adam (Murry), and now you have a breath of fresh air with Eddie Mitchell and Neill (Blake) coming in.
“I think they bring a feeling of stability that you’ve got local people now, who all have a passion for the football club and that is different to the previous owners.”
Meanwhile, director of operations Blake said last week that Cherries were hopeful of getting their transfer embargo lifted and Mostyn confirmed that the club’s staff would receive their June wages, which are due today, on time.
