CHERRIES star Harry Arter has been named in a provisional 40-strong Republic of Ireland squad for a trio of forthcoming friendlies.
The Boys in Green meet Celtic on May 20 – in a testimonial for skipper Scott Brown – before facing France in Paris on May 28 and the USA in Dublin on June 2.
Arter, who has won 11 caps, has not featured for Cherries in the Premier League since coming off the bench in the 2-2 draw at Brighton on New Year’s Day.
He withdrew from the last Ireland squad in March due to a calf injury and has been struggling recently with an Achilles problem.
Sidcup-born Arter, who lined up for Cherries in their FA Cup third round defeat at Wigan in January, qualifies for the country through his grandparents on his mother’s side.
