WOLVES have until the end of the month to decide whether they want to buy Benik Afobe under the terms of their current loan agreement with Cherries.

Afobe netted six times in 16 games to help the Midlands outfit seal a return to the Premier League after heading back to Molineux in January.

The deal, which expires on May 31, included provision for Wolves to buy the striker permanently for an agreed fee, which is reported to be around £12million.

Cherries have already banked a hefty loan fee and saved four months in wages after allowing Afobe to return to the club they signed him from for £9m in January 2016.

And Wolves's promotion to the top flight triggered a further bonus payment for Cherries, believed to have been in the region of £1m.

Should Wolves opt against making a decision until after May 31, they would be entitled to try to negotiate a fee with Cherries, in line with any other interested clubs.

A report earlier this week said Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo would not be looking at new signings until after he had informed his current squad of their futures.

Afobe, who has scored 10 goals in 63 Premier League appearances for Cherries, penned a four-and-a-half year deal when he moved from Molineux to Vitality Stadium and is under contract to the club until 2020.
