NATHAN Ake is relishing a potential clash with team-mate Lewis Cook when the Netherlands host England in a friendly tomorrow.

The Cherries duo could lock horns at Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam with defender Ake hoping to win his sixth senior international cap and midfielder Cook his first.

"It will be good to see him," said Ake. "We’ve spoken about it already and I’m happy for him. It’s a deserved call-up.

"He’s been playing very well for Bournemouth, helping the team so much with his passing and ability.

"If we play against each other it will be good for the club. It’s nice to see. He’s a good friend of mine as well."

Ake has not missed a minute of the Netherlands' past three internationals, a World Cup qualifier against Sweden and friendlies against Scotland and Romania.

The 23-year-old featured at left-back as his team won all three games without conceding.

Former Southampton and Everton boss Ronald Koeman is poised for his first game in charge against England as the Dutch seek to rebuild having failed to qualify for two major tournaments in a row.

Ake said: "It should be good playing against England and it will be good to face them at home.

"We’ve got a new manager so things are going to change a bit and I’m really looking forward to it.

"This is the moment when we have to build up again for the upcoming seasons and for the next tournament and it starts with this game.

"The mood has been a bit down in the past few years. We missed two big tournaments. Now the mood is that we want to get back up there.

"We’ve got a lot of young players and we want to build for the future. Hopefully, we can do well.

"(Koeman) is a big character in Holland and everyone knows him. Also, in his managerial career he has done well. So it will be good to listen to him."
