CHERRIES defender Steve Cook insists basement side West Brom will prove a tougher test than Tottenham.

Having lost 4-1 to Spurs last time out, the Dorset club will on Saturday hope to inflict an eighth straight defeat on Alan Pardew's Baggies.

And Cook, who became the first Cherries player to hit 100 Premier League appearances on Sunday, says his team must be wary of their beleaguered opponents.

He said: "I think the West Brom game will be even harder than Tottenham because they will try to be very compact and hard to beat.

"Sometimes that is very dangerous for us because we do play expansive football, so we will have to be very switched on.

"Everyone will expect us to win but if we start believing that as well, that is when football can sometimes bite you in the bum.

"West Brom's players will give everything until it's impossible for them to stay up. It's natural to want to win games wherever you are in the table.

"I know we've only lost twice in 11 but we haven't won in four either, so it's a game we have to win, especially with the international break after.

"If we win, we can start looking forward."
