CHERRIES face a win-or-bust encounter in their final Premier League Cup group match following today's 1-1 draw at Bury.

They host leaders Wolves at Vitality Stadium on Monday knowing victory would send them through to the last-16 knockout stage.

No fewer than seven under-18s were named in the starting line-up at Gigg Lane, while the Shakers included a number of players with Football League experience.

It was a reversal from when the teams had met at Vitality Stadium earlier this month when Cherries registered an emphatic 6-0 win.

Carl Fletcher's young guns opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Luke Nippard netted his first goal for the under-21s.

First-year scholar Nippard headed home Connal Morrison's cross before Jaidon Anthony went close to doubling their lead and Charlie Seaman also had a chance.

Although the hosts had the better of the second half as their experienced told, Tyler Cordner saw another opportunity go begging.

Bury levelled eight minutes from time when a cross from the right was turned home by Jack Hatton, who squeezed the ball past Mark Travers.

Frank Vincent teed up Anthony in the closing stages but his effort was well saved.
