EDDIE Howe hopes Cherries’ memorable victory over Arsenal will give his players added confidence as they prepare to enter another key run of games.

Goals from Callum Wilson and Jordon Ibe saw Cherries lower the colours of the 13-time top-flight champions for the first time in the club’s history.

The famous win added to triumphs over Chelsea and Manchester United in Cherries’ first season in the Premier League and the epic 4-3 victory against Liverpool 13 months ago.

Cherries will be looking to extend their four-match unbeaten run in the league when they visit West Ham on Saturday – their opponents when they registered their first Premier League win in August 2015.

Howe said: “In previous seasons, we have always managed to take a big scalp – if that’s what you want to call it – and those points have been absolutely crucial to us.

“In our first season in the Premier League, the six points we gained from Chelsea and Manchester United were pivotal to us staying in the division.

“Last season, we had the famous win against Liverpool and some other big games that really made a difference.

“They can be season-defining because it shifts your confidence levels and the way you feel about each other.

“And it gives you added confidence going into the games you have to come that you can beat anybody.”
