BOSS Carl Fletcher believes Cherries' Premier League Cup defeat by Wolves can be a learning experience for his players.

Mikael Ndjoli's 11th-minute opener for Cherries was cancelled out as Wolves came from behind to triumph 2-1 at AFC Telford United's Bucks Head on Tuesday.

Sylvain Deslandes restored parity on the stroke of half-time before Morgan Gibbs-White seized on an error by Cherries goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to seal victory four minutes from time.

Earlier, Cherries had been thankful to Ramsdale for a couple of top-drawer saves, while defender Shaun Hobson cleared off the line an effort from Donovan Wilson.

Fletcher told the club website: "Wolves are a category one side so are used to playing in stadiums and playing in front of people.

"We were disappointed with the result and to lose late on, but it is all part of the process.

"Players will make mistakes but it is important that they learn from every game. They have to take things like this on board then, in the long run, it is a positive.

“We need better quality in possession and games sometimes don’t go your way. But it was another game that the players can learn from.”
