EDDIE Howe revealed he was set to make a late call on winger Junior Stanislas for Sunday’s clash with Southampton.

A groin problem picked up against Chelsea in October has prevented the 28-year-old from featuring in Cherries’ past four games.

While manager Howe admitted it would be a “big lift” if the former Burnley man could take to the field against Saints, he would not be prepared to rush him back.

Howe said: “We will make a late decision on Junior.

“He has still not trained a great deal and has been out a while now.

“It is probably my decision to make as to whether I involve him or not.

“I think he would probably say he is technically fit but is he match fit? That is the question.

“It will be a big lift if he is involved. He is an outstanding player who did very well for us last season.

“He might well come into the matchday squad, we will see.”

Injuries have restricted Stanislas to five Premier League appearances this season.

His only goal of the campaign came in the 2-1 win at Stoke City in October.
