CHERRIES midfielder Lewis Cook was one of three new recruits to have been drafted into Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
The 20-year-old has been selected for the senior set-up alongside fellow youngsters Dominic Solanke and Angus Gunn.
Solanke, Cook and Gunn got the nod after helping Aidy Boothroyd's under-21s continue their unbeaten start to their European qualifying campaign on Friday, with a 2-0 win over Ukraine.
Cook has featured in every qualifier for the under-21s since being promoted from the under-20s set-up.
He became only the second man to captain an England football team to World Cup glory when the Young Lions were crowned under-20 champions in South Korea in the summer.
The Cherries star could win his first senior cap for the Three Lions when England host Brazil at Wembley on Tuesday (8pm).
The youngster could become the first Cherries player to win a full senior cap while at the club.
Cook also took to social media following the announcement.
I am incredibly honoured and proud to be called up for the @England senior squad. A huge achievement for me and my family. Thank you for all the kind messages 🦁🦁🦁
