DEFENDER Charlie Daniels believed the way Cherries executed their game plan against Tottenham was “near enough perfect”.

The former Spurs youngster featured for 90 minutes as part of a back five during his side’s 1-0 loss at Wembley.

And Daniels, who has been ever present for Cherries in the league this season, claimed his team were “frustrated” not to come away with any points against his old club.

He told the Daily Echo: “We were disappointed but, in terms of the game plan, we were near enough perfect.

“We frustrated them and, apart from one very soft goal, they didn’t create too many clear-cut chances.

“We would have liked to have been a little bit better on the ball but I think their press was very good. It was hard to combat that.

“We probably had the most clear-cut chances.

“On another day, one of them would go in and we would have come away with a point. We were frustrated that we didn’t get anything from the game but we are looking forward to Stoke now and we need to win sooner rather than later.”

With six defeats from their opening eight top-flight fixtures, Cherries are 19th in the Premier league table.
