DEFENDER Nathan Ake reckons Tottenham Hotspur will be contenders for the Premier League title this season.

The 22-year-old Dutchman, formerly of Spurs’s London rivals Chelsea, expressed his admiration for Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.

But Ake insisted his side would be going all out to stop Spurs when Cherries make the trip to Wembley tomorrow (3pm).

Asked whether he saw Tottenham in the title picture, Ake told the Daily Echo: “Yes, of course. I think they have a really good squad with really good players, they have showed that.

“They will be a title contender for sure but we need to go there with our own intentions and hopefully we can get points out of the game.”

He added: “They are on a really good run at the moment and are playing really well.

“Harry Kane is a good striker but I think we can go there with confidence.

“In the past few games we have done well. We just need to prepare right and hopefully we can nick something at Wembley.”

Ake is set to make his return to action with Cherries after playing 90 minutes for the Netherlands in their 2-0 win over Sweden in Amsterdam on Tuesday.
