MARC Wilson has left Cherries to join Sunderland on a permanent deal.

As revealed by the Daily Echo yesterday, the 30-year-old Republic of Ireland international was a target for the Black Cats and has now joined the Championship outfit on a free transfer.

Wilson joined Cherries for an initial fee of £1.5million from Stoke 12 months ago.

He penned a two-year deal and started Cherries’ three games in the League Cup and FA Cup last season but did not feature in the Premier League.
