HARRY Arter believes new-look Watford will be a “totally different proposition” under head coach Marco Silva.

Cherries midfielder Arter says he has been impressed with the Hornets and knows they will prove formidable opposition this season.

Arter is also mindful of the tactical acumen of Silva who plotted Cherries' 3-1 defeat at Hull last term, one of the lowest points of an historic campaign.

“He did a great job at Hull,” said Arter. “If he had been in charge for the whole season, I don’t think they would have been relegated. He turned their season around and gave them a really good chance to stay up. They were excellent against us and deserved their win.”

Since Cherries joined Watford in the Championship in 2013, the teams have shared no fewer than six draws and registered a win apiece.

Arter, who netted a stunning goal in a 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road in September 2014, added: “Like us, Watford have progressed nicely. They have a different method of doing things, with a different manager and a different team most years.

“I watched the first half against Liverpool and they have changed again this season. They looked fit and they looked a good team and they had a different formation.

“They have signed some good players, some English players as well, ones we know rather foreign players we didn’t know a great deal about.

“Under the new manager, I think they are going to be a very difficult team to play against. We are looking forward to kicking off our home campaign with what promises to be a tough game.

“When you look at our next two fixtures, it is an important game as well. You want to be able to attack against Manchester City and Arsenal with points and confidence behind you.

“We felt starting against West Brom would be an opportunity to get three points but we came unstuck.

“They don’t get enough credit from the outside for how they go about winning games because they are very effective in the way they do it.

“We have worked hard in training this week and will continue to do so. We want to get our first win and will do everything in our power to try to that against Watford.”
